Dr. Dalia Grybauskaitė

Former President of the Republic of Lithuania, and former European Commissioner for Financial Programming and the Budget

The jury's reasoning:

“Dalia Grybauskaitė is an excellent budget politician, a resolute crisis manager, a responsible and far-sighted state president and a committed European. As an EU Commissioner, she was a driving force for reform of the EU budget. As President of the Republic of Lithuania, together with Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, she successfully steered Lithuania through the 2009 financial crisis by means of a strict austerity program and led her country into the euro zone by fulfilling the relevant stability criteria for many years. In matters of European integration, she has always insisted on strict compliance with agreed rules - especially with regard to budgetary and fiscal policy. Dalia Grybauskaitė pursued a clear course of opposition to Russia and successfully drew NATO's attention to its obligation to protect Lithuania.”

By diversifying the product range, he increased the company's long-term resilience. Hans-Julius Ahlmann is also a great patron of art and culture.
