Tobias Heimann studied economics at the University of Marburg, followed by completing the master program "Development Economics" at the University of Göttingen. In course of this master program he spend a semester abroad at the University Bogor in Indonesia and worked for two years as a research assistant at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) in Bonn. At ZEF he was strongly involved in establishing an early-warning system for food security and supply.
At the Kiel Institute Tobias Heimann is working with the CGE model "DART" on evaluating possible future bioeconomy scenarios. In particular he looks for interactions with land-use patterns, economic development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Besides his work at the institute he is participating in the PhD program "Quantitative Economics" at the CAU Kiel.
