In the present study, the authors analyze the effects of military and aerospace spending in the United States. They attempt to statistically prove the spin-offs of these expenditures at company and sectoral level as well as at the national level. In addition, the international interconnectedness in the trade in weapons and licenses for the production of weapons will be examined. Building on this, the industrial policy relevance of armaments and space activities is discussed, which in many cases is also regarded as considerable in the Federal Republic of Germany.
