Pietro Bomprezzi holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Bocconi University and a master's degree in Economics from the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he is also a PhD candidate. As part of his doctoral thesis he studies the political distortions in the allocation of aid, using natural language processing tools to provide a novel geocoded dataset of European bilateral aid projects. His main research focus is on the political economy of development and in international finance. At the Kiel Institute, he is helping to coordinate and expand the Ukraine Support Tracker.
