Subscription to Information Service - Your Personal Data

The protection of personal data is very important to us. Therefore, we handle your personal data in a highly responsible manner and do not share your information with third parties without your consent. The following privacy policy refers to your consent to be informed about news and events of the Kiel Institute:

(1) By giving your consent you allow us to send you information about news from the Institute, our current work and events.

(2) We use the double opt-in procedure for subscribing to this service. This means that after your registration we will send you an e-mail to the specified e-mail address in which we ask you to confirm that you if fact would like the information to be sent. As long as you do not confirm your registration, your information will be blocked and if we do not receive confirmation, they will be deleted. In addition, we store your IP addresses and the date and time of registration and confirmation. This is to document your registration

(3) The only mandatory information for sending the information is your e-mail address. The indication of additional, separately marked data is voluntary and is used to make our offers more specific to you. We recommend that you provide your name in order to be able to address you personally and thus increase your protection against any counterfeit emails. After your confirmation we will save the provided data for the purpose of sending you the information. (The legal basis for the above is Art. 6 Sect. 1 Sentence 1 lit. a DS-GMO [General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)].)

(4) You can rescind your consent to the sending of the information at any time and cancel the service. You can declare your cancellation by e-mail to E-Mail Address protected. Please enable Javascript. or by sending a message to the contact details given in the imprint. After unsubscribing / revoking the information service, we block your contact details and delete them after 180 days, unless you have consented to the use of the data for other purposes of the Kiel Institute, for example for the invitation to events.
