Venue

The 14th Nordic conference will take place at Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Kiellinie 66, 24105 Kiel- Germany. The institute is located at the Kieler Förde and within walking distance to the Landtag (German state parliament) of Schleswig Holstein.

Getting around

The bus stop “Institut für Weltwirtschaft” is located right next to the Institute. The bus (numbers 41/42) leaves on a regular basis and will take you to the central station within 11 minutes. If you want to get from the central station to the institute you will have to take the bus in the direction “Tannenberg” or “Rungholtplatz”. For the other direction take “Meimersdorf” or “Hauptbahnhof”. Single tickets costs 2,60 € and a daily ticket costs 7,80 €.

Travel

Arrival via plane

The international airport Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel, which is located only 85 km away from Kiel, offers daily flights to all metropoles. In around 50 minutes you will reach Kiel by taxi (ca. 75 € via Vineta Airport Service Exclusive). There exists also the option to use the KielExx. A minibus will pick you up and will drive you in a small group of 6 to 8 people to your final destination in Kiel (ca. 35 €). You should make a reservation for the two mentioned services (telephone-number 0431 - 77080).

In addition, the Airport Bus Kielius brings you from the airport to the central bus station/ main station in Kiel up to 19 times a day (ca. 21 €). No reservation is required

 

Arrival via ferry

Daily arrivals and departures with ferries to/ from Oslo, Gothenburg and Klaipeda are possible.

 

Arrival via train

Kiel Central Station is easily accessible in the city center, just a few meters from the ferries, bus stops and the central taxi station. There are daily connections by Intercity Express, Intercity and many regional trains.

Arrival via car

Via the motorways A7 / A210 / A215 you can quickly reach Kiel. Distance to other cities:

Evening reception

Lille Brauerei

On Friday, 27.09, we invite you to a dinner at the Lille Brauerei at 18:00. Opened in December 2018, the Lille Brauerei is Kiel’s first craftbeer brewery. The dinner will be served in the taproom, where the whole production facility is in sight and which is equipped with 12 different taps.
