Katharina Lima de Miranda has been working at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy since 2016 in various positions. Since September 2025, she has rejoined the Institute as a Researcher in the Research Center “Global Transformation,” within the group “Global Cooperation and Social Cohesion,” where she contributes to developing new and innovative measures of welfare.

In addition, she is Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager at the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung, overseeing projects on sustainable social development in different regions worldwide. She also teaches regularly at several universities, particularly in the fields of health economics and public economics. Her research interests include behavioral economics, sustainable wellbeing, labor markets, health, and gender equality.
