Annual Meeting 2025 - Standing Field Committee in International Economics
Most economies are nowadays highly integrated into international goods and financial markets, and there are few decisions on an individual, business, or economic policy level, that are not being influenced by the international environment. This is why it is of crucial importance to understand how different aspects of globalization affect economic performance measures such as growth, employment, the income distribution or macroeconomic stability, and how they determine the scope of economic policy. Any serious involvement with these questions has to be based on consistent and transparent theories, a confrontation of theoretical hypotheses with empirical evidence, and an open-minded discussion of alternative economic policy options.
The members of the Standing Field Committee in International Economics are rooting their economic research in questions that are decisively influenced by the international context. Since its foundation in 1976, the committee has been offering a forum for the discussion of research strategies and results. For this purpose, the committee meets every spring in varying locations and we're happy to host the 2025 edition!
