Ulrich Schmidt is full professor of economics at the University of Kiel since 2006 and since 2013 head of the research area "Global Cooperation and Social Cohesion" at the Kiel Institute. Before coming to Kiel he held professorships in Odense and Hannover. He completed his education at the University of Kiel with master degrees in economics and business administration as well as doctorates in economics and psychology. His research interests are in the field of behavioral and experimental economics, decision theory, health economics, and behavioral finance. Prof. Schmidt has more than 100 publications in refereed journals. Besides economics journals like Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Theory, or Journal of Public Economics he also published in top journals from other disciplines like Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, Current Biology, and Management Science. Currently he is on the editorial board of Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Judgement and Decision Making, Geneva Risk and Insurance Review, and Theory and Decision.
