Torben Helfrich
Information
Torben Helfrich has been a researcher in the Global Commons and Climate Policy Research Group at the Kiel Institute since 2025. His research primarily focuses on public perceptions of geoengineering and negative emission technologies. His research interests also include various topics within natural resource economics.
He studied economics at the University of Mannheim and went on to complete the master's program in Environmental and Resource Economics at Kiel University. He gained international experience during his studies through semesters abroad at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He worked as a research assistant at the Kiel Institute during his master's studies.
