Tim Kaiser is a Professor of Economics at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU), a CESifo Research Network Affiliate, and an Affiliate at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics in Bonn. He is also an associated researcher at the Mannheim Institute for Financial Education (MIFE), a joint initiative of the University of Mannheim and the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).

 

Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Koblenz-Landau and a research associate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). Tim studied and earned his doctoral degree at the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Sciences at the University of Kiel and worked as a research associate in the Department of Political Science. His research focuses on development economics, economics of education, and household finance. His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and World Bank Economic Review.

 

At the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, he conducts research at the “International Development” research center as part of a project funded by KfW, which evaluates the impact of a program supporting small entrepreneurs in Kenya through field experiments. Within this context, he is part of the “Kiel Institute Africa Initiative,” which focuses on researching African economies.
