Lorenzo Ranaldi joined the Macrofinance research group in June 2025. As a member of the Macrohistory Lab, his work centres on macro-finance. He is currently investigating how inflation shapes asset returns across countries over long time horizons and how it is transmitted through the banking system. Lorenzo studied economics at LUISS University, Bocconi University and the University of Bonn, and completed
research stays at the National University of Singapore and the University of Chicago
