On September 15th, Lars Hecker joined the Kiel Institute for the world Economy as a doctoral researcher in the Research Center Innovation and International Competition and the Interdisciplinary Kiel Centre for Globalization (KCG). He is part of the Kiel Institute Africa Initiative and studies, among other things, the growth of African companies in terms of their foreign trade performance and use of technology.

Furthermore, his research interests include the impact of supply chain disruptions on firms as well as climate-related innovations at firm level.

Lars Hecker obtained his master’s degree in Economics at Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel. Prior to his current work, Lars Hecker has already worked as a research assistant at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
