Presidential Task Force

The Presidential Task Force deals with strategically important, policy-relevant topics of current interest. It develops scientific analyses for policy advice and for informing the general public. Four areas are of importance in this context:

  • general questions of trade policy
  • international cooperation within the G20
  • regional policy issues relating to northern Germany
  • health economic issues

The Task Force cooperates intensively with all research centers of the Institute, especially with the Research Center Business Cycles and Growth. It sees itself as an incubator: if promising thematic complexes gain in importance for the Institute, the research based at the Taskforce can become the core of a new research center. The Taskforce strives for internationally competitive scientific research in all sub-areas, networks with stakeholders at home and abroad, and acts as a source of inspiration for the entire Institute.
