Advanced Studies Program

Select One Course

The ASP “Select One” program is a portfolio of supplementary Courses which are organized by the Kiel Institute make a contribution to familiarizing Ph.D students, staff members of national and international institutions or researchers in Think Tank or financial firms with cutting-edge research, strengthening their expertise and teaching them how to address actual economic policy problems.

Those courses provide open minded and motivated participants with the opportunity to learn about issues at the frontier of current research, taught by some of the most prominent economists in the field, and to apply modern tools of analysis to economic policy issues and challenges they face. Participation in these courses can be expected to not only provide impulses for the ongoing or future projects, but to meet a vibrant community who are interested in similar topics.

The ASP "Select One” consists of various one-week courses which the Kiel Institute has developed in the context of its Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research. The courses cover the areas of International Trade, Growth and Development, Open Economy Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy, and international Finance. Written exams are offered for all courses, with 3 credit points for a one-week course if you are a Ph.D student. Any candidate can apply for participation in one or several courses of the program.
