Sophia Fehrenbacher joined the Kiel Institute as a doctoral researcher in August 2021. She is part of the research area Innovation and International Competition and the Kiel Institute Africa Initiative. Her research focuses on growth and innovation of African firms. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Konstanz and a master’s degree in Economics from Kiel University.
