Natalie Baier is a postdoctoral researcher in the project area global health economy at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. She works within the Cluster of Excellence “Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation” where she develops new approaches to the economic evaluation of health care and health investments. Her research is mainly focused on health economics, regional analyses and health services research.
Before joining the Institute in July 2020, she studied economics at the CAU Kiel and the Abo Akademi (Finnland) and then earned a Master in Health Economics and Policy at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. She received a doctoral degree from TU Berlin, where she was a research fellow at the Department of Health Care Management and affiliated with the Berlin Centre of Health Economics Research from 2012 to 2020.
