Esther Ademmer is an interim professor of Comparative Politics at Kiel university and a research associate at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. She holds a doctorate in Political Science from FU Berlin and a Master of International Relations from FU/HU Berlin and University of Potsdam. Her research focuses on issues of European integration and governance, comparative political economy, and  institutional change in transition countries.
