The Kiel Institute Launches Excellence Award
in Global Economic Affairs for Young Economists
The aim of the new Kiel Institute Excellence Award is to build up a community of the brightest young researchers in the area of global economic affairs. The prize winners will receive intellectual, financial, and administrative support – based on the Kiel Institute’s generous resources – to pursue focused programs of research in designated areas.
Economists under the age of 35 are invited to apply for this award by submitting a published or unpublished paper in the area of global economic affairs.
The prize winners will receive a Research Fellowship at the Kiel Institute, entitling them to
- a one-month research visit to the Institute, all expenses paid,
- research support und superb research facilities,
- research interaction with the Kiel Institute’s researchers and visiting professors and fellows,
- unlimited access to the German National Library of Economics (the largest economics library in the world),
- access to the Institute’s Virtual Research Communities,
- participation in the Institute’s research events (workshops, seminars, roundtables), and
- the opportunity to join the Kiel Institute’s research projects.
At present, there are two named Research Fellowships:
- the „Horst Siebert Fellowship“ and
- the „Porsche Fellowship“.
