On Thursday, June 30, 2005 the Kiel Institute launched a new series of events:

Leading Thinkers in Global Economic Affairs.

In 2005 the Leading Thinkers series focused on

Financial Innovation and the World Economy.

Two outstanding economists,

 Prof. Graciela Chichilnisky, Ph.D. Columbia University and

 Prof. Robert Shiller, Ph.D., Yale University,

gave Distinguished Lectures on issues in financial innovation.
