The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel invites applications for the position of:

Assistant Professor of Macroeconomics (W1)

appointed at the earliest possible date as civil servant initially limited to three years.

He/She represents the field of macroeconomics in research and teaching. An active participation in the doctoral program "Quantitative Economics" is highly welcome.

Research emphasis should be on macroeconomics with a focus on policy implications. Research with relevance for matters of the world economy is desirable. The appointment is made jointly by the University and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. The position includes a half-time appointment to the Kiel Institute. Participation in the research program "Macroeconomic Activity and Policy" and in think tank activities is expected.

Applicants should preferably have completed a degree in economics and must have the necessary formal qualifications as set out in § 64 of the University Law of Schleswig-Holstein (http://www.uni-kiel.de/sy/2008/satzung-berufungsverfahren.pdf). Experience in raising external funds is an advantage.
